un dia bonita

Today has been such a great day! We woke up and ate some yummy breakfast at pastora’s. Then we headed out to Cuesta Arena. While we were out there a man came to meet us to talk about the water filtration system. He was extremely helpful and was able to tell us a lot about what needs to get done. There is a lot of work to do but we know that God is big and He always provides. We also were able to bring some food for Orileidy and her family. The rest of our time out there was spent playing with the kids. Kristyn and I walked to Pamela’s house to visit with her family for a little while. I always enjoy going to see them. When we go they bring us chairs to sit in and we just sit outside and relax. I think this is something that Americans need to learn to do. We make ourselves so busy that we don’t have time to just sit and be. I think it’s important at times to just take in the day and enjoy the simplicity of being around the people you love. It’s harder to do than you would think. I admire their ability to slow down the pace of life a bit. Pamela brought out her 2 month old daughter Briley. She was precious and she just sat contently in Kristyn’s lap. We walked back to the top of the hill, played for a little bit longer and then headed back to pastora’s for some lunch. We had some tuna subs and relaxed. Kristyn, Sarah, pastora, and I went to the market to do some shopping. While we were in the market I heard someone call my name. I turned around and saw a friend of mine from Ormond Beach in the doorway of the store. It is so crazy to see someone I know from home all the way in my second home in Santiago. It was very exciting and surprising to see him and his family! We walked around the market some more, did some shopping on the street, and of course we had to stop for some ice cream. We came back to pastora’s and you’ll never guess what we did….ate! We had dinner, which of course was delicioso! Now we are waiting at the house for Drew to arrive. We are looking at pictures and playing with Felix. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day and I am so excited! I am so happy to be here right now. It truly is my second home. I feel so blessed to be loved by these people.
