Preparing for School to Start- August 17, 2012
The school is painted. The floors have been cleaned, and recleaned and we begin to prepare for school to start. Public school here starts anytime between August 20 and August 30. Yesterday we went to buy uniforms for Juancito along with book bag, shoes, folders, and pencils. The kids are excited to go back to school!
In Cuesta Arena, the talk of the town is who is going to go to the new school. All of the kids want to know if they will get to be in the school. The plan is to have a meeting with all the parents of children ages 3-4 years old and explain the rules of the school. Though the school will be free as far as cost, the parents will be required to “do something.” Depending on the family and what they can do, they will be required to clean, do yard work, help in the classroom, etc. This adds value to the school and its worth in the community. We are still in need of sponsorship of our teachers. This costs $325 per month which can be a one time donation or of the children in the classroom for $30 per month. Please keep us in your prayers as we begin an exciting time!
