Feb 17- Susana Aguillas Stadium

Yesterday we were privileged to have private tour of the baseball stadium here in Santiago for the Aguilas (Eagles), the professional baseball team here in Santiago. There is league here in the DR that includes the Aguilas and teams from La Romana, San Francisco de Macoris, and two teams from Santo Domingo. The winner in the DR League plays in the Caribbean playoffs. The Aguilas have won many championships since the 1950’s. They have also povided many major league players to US teams including Tony Pena and Jhonny Peralta. We met the current president of the league who was the Latin American scout for the Cleveland Indians for many years. Our gracious host was the Treasurer and member of the Board of Directors for the Aguilas. Many thanks for an awesome visit!!
